Looking for owners manual.

Hello I am new and I just purchased a 1989 Bass Tracker boat with 25 hp johnson motor and orginal trailer. I am looking for any owner manuals to the boat, motor, and in dash fish finder. I have no info on this boat so I am just trying to wing it. Any info would be very welcome. Thanks Fritz from Michigan.

First a BIG welcome!!

As to manuals what you need is the OMC factory service manual for the 25hp - the service manual and not the owners manual. Make sure it is the factory one as there are a couple of after market manuals that are no where near as good. I doubt that a manuall was produced for the boat.

Angler, look for the SELOC manual for your engine on fleabay or amazon.

For the boat itself, as SoLittle mentioned, not likely to have a manual.

For the fishfinder: does it work? If so leave it alone. If it doesn't make sure that it's in fact a real option and not a standard dash without anything hooked up to it.

Look behind the dash for a black wire about 2mm thick either going to a black box behind the dash or going through the transom to a transducer. If you don't have either of those, the you do not have a fishfinder.

Thanks for the help and info I do have a transducer on the back but have not had a chance to look under the dash. I looked at the ad that I bought the boat from and it says a in dash fish finder. Nice to know there is people out there that will help. Thanks again and look forward to learning more and finding fellow anglers and boaters. I am sure I will need more help in the future.

Angler, look at the fish finder and see if you can see any name on it that may indicate where on line you could check for an operators manual. I, too, have an older bass boat with little to no literature/manual to help me muddle through the operation of different features on the boat. I was able to download and print a manual for the Depth/Fishfinder on the bow and don't care about the one on the console as I'm going to replace it. Hope this was a help.

Bass Buster, it does say humming bird for the one in the dash so that will give me a start. I will jump online and see what I can find. Thanks for the help if I find anything I will relay the info. Thanks again.
