I had the same problem with the half pipe going sub. If you try to start slow it will go sub on you. You have to get on the gas for take off. At the end of the ride if the kids smart off I'll go slow and pickup speed slowly and wash them off. :D Give it a try and let us know if it works.

Submarining will also be a bigger problem if your tube is not inflated to proper capacity/pressure, as I've found. Not as sensitive as say having your rider keep their weight back, but, it helps. And as Thad and I have already discussed, it's tough to inflate properly with a cheapie 12V.

At any rate, I bought a Connelly Cruzer -- got it out once and had a good time -- fun tube so far. Looking to inflate it better next time out, though (see above). I actually had an Airhead HotShot last season (like the big slice, but way more of a wafer profile, not front graded like the big slice) and that submarined so bad that the liner ripped right off the bladder.

Have any of you tried the booster ball yet? It works really well to prevent the tube from diving or submarining.

I've had my eye on this since I first saw it...looks like it only do positive things to me.....$100 though??? hmm...

Just my 2 cents worth.

Now we pretty much just go to Wlly World and get what they carry. We learned one thing. They bounce up in the air and throw you around just like the expensive ones.

I completely agree with you! Growing up we always used the cheaper tubes and then I bought my first boat and thought I need a better quality tube, only to find out the thing costs more and lasted just as long. I'll stick with wally world special $89 2 person tube.

We only buy Airhead tubes, have tried them all and am very happy with all the Airheads I have owned.

Our favorite is the Airhead Viper which is a cockpit tube and comes in 1,2,or 3 person.

I got a Pro Express Elite 58" Donut on Ebay for 10 bucks. Was 100 in Play it Again Sports. It's good quality, and you can't go wrong for the price. You could buy two and still be quite abit ahead of the game.

That looks interesting! Hmm.....might have to buy that!

Is this steerable due to the placement of the tie-on point? Is this the first truly steerable tube? As long as the boat driver stays in a clear lane, I won't be at his/her mercy. AWESOME! The company's "Slalom" tube looks cool too. Similar, but you ride it on your knees. How to decide???
