I'm looking at an '63 Evinrude 40HP. It appears to be very well maintained. I'm just wondering if anybody knows of any inherent problems with this model. It has electric shift. Is this a plus or minus? Thanks.
The electric shift is a big minus, IMO. When they work, they do fine. When they don't, there are some very expensive parts to replace.
No other problems inherent in any of the 40's
