Okay this could be interesting, the top half looks like fiberglass? But there is rivet lines on the hull?

Great looking rig, I agree...if one Johnson outboard is good, two is even better

I noticed as well that the bow cap looks like a 'glass part, is this a "frankenstar" by chance?

The V5 hulls are great, I'd love to get one someday.

How big is the fiberglass boat in the foreground? Looks like a huge one.

Sorry for the wait guys, i work 2nd shift. Cheapboatkev was the closest to what this boat started out as, the boat started its life as a 1978 22ft holiday v5 ob.

We have been looking for a 22ft V5 ouboard hull for quite some time. I seen djpeters v5 SS on craigslist in rockford a few weeks before he bought it, but decided against it because i wanted a tandem trailer. Now in the past year kinda been kicking ourselves for not buying that boat, so when this showed up on craigslist only 50 miles from me it was a no brainer. When we went and looked at it thought it was orginally an islander untill we saw the id tag. Who ever converted this boat to an islander did a VERY GOOD job finishing everything off and put a ton of time into it. He would also ( along with many of you) probably want to kill us for what we have in mind for this hull. Plan on going to an open floor plan center or side console, probably side console due to cost.

We brought the boat home a week ago today, floor had some soft spots and transom was pretty bad but we needed to tear it down to convert to the open floor plan so we got after it this weekend. As to the question about the fiberglass top , no the top is not glass, its all aluminum, the entire top, bow to splash well i think came off of an islander and was just attached to the holiday hull, i think someone really wanted a v5 islander. It seems to me all these boat hulls are the same gunwale down, and just put different tops on for different models, because the top did not seem to be modifed or cut up to fit really at all.

Huron there is a huge glass boat in the foreground, that has been our fill in boat untill we could find a big tin can that we wanted. its a 1975 mako 23, that ones got twin johnson on it too, 100hp though, probably will sell that one this summer since i finally found the big tin can i have been looking for. Back to the starcraft though. In 2 days( actually 1.5 day, had to go pick up a kicker motor on saturday am.) this weekend we got it down to the bare hull except pulling the transom out.

Motors seem to run good, but i already had planned on going to a big single and kicker motor, just eaiser for trolling, so we are just going to sell the motors and cmc units.
