Hi. My father restores old aluminum boats and he recently salvaged a 15' Lone Star boat shell that he wants to restore to it's original condition for my family. We cannot find any name plate, serial number, etc. that would give us any indication as to the model. There is a faded "scar" that indicates the Lone Star logo, but that's about it. If any one has any knowledge of this I would greatly appreciate it. Any leads on where to buy the "parts" would also be appreciated!

Thank You! LoneStar.jpg

I have some information on it. I was able to get from the existing boat registration that it is a 1968 Lone Star. Unfortunately they didn't have a model listed. That might get me closer to the answer.

Actually never mind the last post. It doesn't look like they made aluminum Lone Stars in 1968. Back to square one.

Lone Star boats were bought by Chrysler in 1965 and they kept most the of the product line intact for 1966 as well as the Lone Star badges on the boat. In 1967 however they introduced new models and the Lone Star name was removed from the boats forever. I have all the brochures from 1957-1965 and the rest can be found here. http://www.hurrikain.com/thechryslercrew/brochures.htm

I can identify your boat if you can upload some more photos.

Dont take the 1968 as accurate from the registration, paperwork is often wrong for boats built before HIN became standard.

It could be pre 1968, but was mislabeled.

I'd bet the motor was a 1968, which was easy to ID, and they incorrectly used that as the year of the boat.

It had a LoneStar badge at some point..

Post better pix
