The live well and washdown pump is not coming on. I see blue tabs on both sides of the pump does the top come off? Not sure how to proceed here

Thanks,

I would first confirm you're getting power to the pump, first by checking fuses, then power in and out of the switch. If you're getting power out of the switch, then I would pull the pump and see if there is debris jammed inside and bench test it. If that fails, replace the pump. They don't last a long time.

Are you referring to a single pump or two separate pumps? I would guess, and it's a guess not knowing the brand of pump, that you should be able to remove the pump by pushing on the tabs. I would also check for power first, do you hear it/them humming when turned on?

Are you sure its primed? With mine, I need to back up to force some water up to the pump before it starts working.

So if you have power and feel the pump humming away, that's where I'd start.

It has been a few years but I seem to remember pulling the tabs unlocks the hose connectors so they come out of the pump housing.

Well thanks for all the replies! I decided to mess with the front pump first as it was not coming on either. I took it out and hooked it up to 12 volts and it ran! Now I have to figure out why no power from the switch. Also upon removing it is missing a cover on the outlet side. See photo. Can I get a replacement?

Thanks,
Brian

Update power to the switch now after turning battery switch to all. The pump I am working on now is the freshwater pump.

I tested the positive wire on the live well pump and it showed 12 volts. with switch on but pump does nothing. I will try touching both the positive and negative wires directly to the battery. I am thinking maybe a bad ground. Will let you all know.

Thanks again!
Brian
