Hello thanks for looking at the post my live well has never worked on my boat i am looking to redo it using the existing through hull pump i used a hose from inside my boat to make sure their was no blockage in the through hull pickup

I have roughly made a model of how i am planning to install everything once again it is very rough draft so you guys will have to forgive me.the line between the boxes in the draft is the crease in the boat and the walls are slightly slanted on the boat. I am also stuck between to pumps i will post pictures of both any help will be greatly appreciated thanks so much.

you don't want to use the flo jet pump.... that's for drinking water.... way too slow for a live well

use the centrifugal pump

Most livewell pumps are 500gph, the one you are looking at is 174 gph which is pretty slow and it seems it could plug pretty easy sucking water from outside the boat.

You want to go with a purpose built thru hull livewell pump.

The problem with centrifugal pumps is that they're not self priming. You'll want to make sure the pump is mounted directly on top of the thru-hull fitting. This way, the weight of the boat forces water thru the fitting directly into the pump.

I have a seacock with a scoop type pick-up with a Rule seacock mount pump. The scoop intake will push water while underway so there is noo need to run the pump while underway
