I have a 175 intruder motor 95 looper. I take the cable loose and set the link and sync to occure at the same time. When i hook it up to my foot pedal it pulls the cam roller and cam follower off the tab. Does it matter as long as i have them occuring together or should i get it run right up to the detent tab at all times? My foot pedal makes it very hard to do that. If you let it go it springs back real fast and that is when the gap occurs. Does that really matter much? I've noticed alot of other people's foot pedal basically stands straight up mine is kinda leaned in toward you. I can adjust the spring and get it to basically stand up does that matter? . I've now got it set as close as i can get so when it comes back its barely off the cam and the follower.

Elaborate? Is it because of what i just described or preference? I'am grasping at straws to figure out this poor running motor.

The Hot Foot is fine. Set the sync-n-link and center the throttle cable. You need to set up the linkage on the motor according to the OE service manual. Then hook up the throttle cable. The motor doesn't know where the throttle cable is coming from.
