hey i pulled my entire motor off the boat and hung it in a a frme put a pipe under a frame to seperate lower on a 150 v6 evinrude with good harmoniic balancer puller with grade 8 bolts worked like a charm i even put it in a bind with chain fall and strap through lower to free lower unit .

everyone pulled the motor 5/16 # 8 fine thread bolts. got the pump out with a little work of course. new pump in works like a charm. had to add some fluid and made sure it worked before I remounted the motor.
