Re: leaking boat

You could drill out the rivets and go to a larger size or for a quick fix use some 3m 5200 on both sides inside and out by the rivets.

Re: leaking boat

Slightly over drill the rivet hole. And use the correct diameter rivet for the new larger hole. Dip the rivet in 3M 5200 before you cinch it tight to the hull.

Aluminum solid rivet that must be bucked or an aluminum closed end blind rivet.

Once the rivets are installed, you can coat all the exposed seams & rivets w/ Coat-it or Gluvit to help prevent future leaks

two of the three holes I can go up one size and be ok, but the other hole will be two maybe three sizes bigger. I hate to drill a hole that big. would it be better to put a small patch over it and drill a 3/16 hole in it and rivet it.

Re: leaking boat

You could try using JB weld and drilling it out. A bilnd rivet will work with it but it doesn't hold up too well with solids being hammered against it.
