Anyone here really know the price of high end Alcohol?

KY state ABC has an auction going on to sell confiscated booze. I know things like Pappy Van Winkle is high, but also depends on the year. I'm not a guy that knows but maybe someone here is
ABC Auction

We have a local distillery started up and is selling barrels to locals and I bought some. So if things go as most all do there is a possibility to at least double the money in 4 years

It means that I would go thru a barrel of whiskey in well under 4 years

The secondhand market on high end whiskey is unbelievable. Almost always sells for well over MSRP. Some places run lotteries to buy it, and those are typically sold at or near MSRP, but I've never been lucky enough to have my number drawn...yet. :)

I work with a guy that buys and sells bottles. He will be in on Monday. I forwarded the auction list to my patent attorney as he is a buy/sell fanatic.

I had some Japanese whisky a few weeks ago that was pretty amazing. Can’t remember the name but at $250.00 a bottle it will probably be the last time I try it.

I'm pretty happy with ole #7 when it comes to sour mash. I'll water down some absinthe if I'm feeling frisky.

Never have been one who drinks it straight, didn't like the burn or flavor. Was at my local distillery and the owner gave me a taste "neat" of what he called the good stuff. One sip and dang that was smooth, then another sip and it was as good as the first. He said this is something he had made many years ago, so no name.

I was there going to buy some barrels and could just be something like Pappy or Rip Van Winkle but either way it was good. I can also see why some can spend more on the good stuff

10 Year Eagle Rare has an MSRP of about 40 bucks. I have 2 bottles currently.

Guessing those bottle on the auction are Eagle Rare 10 Yr Prentice Lawrenceburg. Those are very expensive (found some for 2K online).

The bourbon craze continues. Plain Makers or Turkey 101 is as high end as i need.

It’s a thing right now with whiskey. That drives up the price. Look how draft beer prices have risen since the craft beer craze. What used to be $1.50 is now three to five dollars depending where you go. Five dollar drafts are the norm.

That’s still pretty cheap
$5.50 -$6.00 are happy hour prices around here. $7.50 restaurants, $8-10 at the brewery
