Kodiak Oil Lube hub failures

Installed 4 Kodiak oil lube hub kits. Seals leaked oil in 100 miles. Fortunately I had wheel bearing grease, grease gun, and my axles where center drilled for grease fittings.
So I pumped the wheel bearing full of grease and was back on the road.
I do not believe I damaged the seals during installation, not sure how I would have done things different.
I cannot see any way the hubs vent pressure as you change elevation and the hubs change temp. Hubs ran maybe 10-20 degs above air temp.
Any one else have this problem or know of a solution.

Re: Kodiak Oil Lube hub failures

I personally don't like oil hubs on anything that isn't on the road daily. All of my semi trailers that are not used often have had seal problems, so I switched them all to grease hubs. Is it possible that the spindles were worn where the seal goes? On all my heavy trucks with oil seals, there is a replacable wear ring on the spindle wear the seal goes, so every time the seal is replaced, the new seal has a new wear surface.

Brand new axles, first trip and the kodiak oil seals do not run on the axle they turn inside of the seal. Thanks for the feed back on the oil seals, I am leaning towards keeping the grease unless kodiak will send me some new seals to give it one more try.
