I've been watching a TV show called "Hanging Air" and I have to say, if I was a few years younger I'd buy a Kite Boarding rig and give it a try. It looks like a sport that would be a ton of fun.

Not that I would care to start off with leaps 50' in the air on day one. :D

Is this on water or frozen lakes or both???
YUP, looks fun even on frozen lakes, right up to the point you hit the ice fishermans fishing shack!!! :D

Re: Kite boarding... If only I was younger.

I watched a group of young men kite boarding while vacationing in Florida last year. They looked like they were having a glorified blast.:D I caught myself thinking......if I was only in my twenties again.........

Yup.....It is easier than it looks. I have a friend who is also in his 70's and still does it. My first time was when I was 45.

Have fun!

Kite boarding is a very popular sport on the big bay at the end of my street. On a weekend you can expect to see several dozen kites crisscrossing the frozen water. Not sure how they avoid the many sledders and all the ice huts out there. Its quite a site on a sunny day with all the bright colored kites. In a strong wind those things can really move. Looks to be alot of fun as long as you can stay on your feet.

Those guys I saw kite boarding in Florida were using a normal slalom water ski. They were way radical with their tricks. If I tried that, I would need cortisone shots to get out of bed the next morning.
