They do live long. I’ve seen some bigs ones that were probably 40 plus year old.But snapping turtles live for a long time they are they closest thing we get to sharks in Minnesota.

Absolutely ... I like turtle soup, turtle etouffee, fried turtle ... you just have to keep them alive a few days in clean water, changing the water often, till you get the mud cleaned out of said turtle.Can ya eat them , and what about chipmunks and 'coons.
Ive seen Tom and Nancy eating muskrats and beavers ,chipmunks and coons aint that different?. I spose it all comes down to what food there is about if your subsistence living ....traditional food ?
Part of it is the anger against pet owners who are irresponsible as pet owners and cats multiple or just go dump them in the country. Technically in the wild a cat is considered an invasive specie.Yall being a little hard on cats. Not any different than a lion ripping the throat out of a gazelle. They manage their own population for the most part.
