Kill Switch

I got a tiller motor with kill switch and i want to locate it so anyone who operates this boat that falls off wont be in the kill circle.. can i just cut the 2 wires and move it?

Why move it,the operator should have it attached to their clothing. Other than that,if ya want to make the wires longer,I suppose ya can,but why?

I making it so it is remote steering so the operate wont be anywhere near the motor anymore

The throttle control for the remote steering should be equipped with a kill switch for the operator.
