Key replacement

I have a 22-year-old Princecraft pontoon boat with only 1 key and was wondering where I get another one made. My key says OMC 77 on it.

visit your local evinrude/johnson dealer. he probably has them in stock.

I not sure how many different keys Johnson used but I know Mercury only had about 20 or so. They fit on one small key ring. Case used to have one key that fit all their equipment years ago.

Go to a GOOD lock shop. A good lock shop/ locksmith can duplicate any key.

Many dealers used to have keys to help folks out.------But times changed.-----Many small , ready to help shops have closed up.

No, there are under 2 dozen various cuts

Cabinets keys are worse as there are about 7 with the most common being a CH 751

No. CH751 is a very common key, used a lot on various electrical/mechanical panel boxes as well as other things, but in the world of cabinet locks there are 100’s of variations of keyways alone, not to mention cuts.

I've literally went to Ace Hardware and the guy looked the key up in his book and ordered it
Granted he didn't have it on hand but couple days later I was able to go up there and he cut me 2 keys. Cost like $5.00 bucks I think

Some of the Ace stores have guys that are pretty decent with keys. Once in a while if I needed a blank I didn’t have in my lock shop I could go to a certain ace and the guy there could usually help me out. Another ace in the next town the key guy was clueless.
