My wife and kids and I will be traveling down to Kentucky lake with our boat in tow. We decided to stay at big bear resort since Moors was 100% booked. I seen alot of mixed reviews for this place and was wondering if anyone has stayed at this resort and may have some input as far as the cleanliness and service.

Re: Kentucky Lake Big Bear Resort

My family stayed there 7-8 years ago. Our accommodations were fine, but haven't been there since we started going to The Moors. Big Bear has been around for years, so I don't think you will be disappointed.

A fun outing for an evening road trip is Belew's Dairy Bar in Aurora about 10 miles south of Big Bear on Hwy 68. It's a local hamburger, shake, and ice cream place that has car hops if you want your kids to experience that. We just sit at the picnic tables and have the hops serve us there. They are closed on Tuesdays. The name is pronounced "Baa Lou's"

If you care to boat at night, The Moors has fireworks July 3rd.
