Just ordered new sun tracker

Wife and I decided to go with the sun tracker fishing barge 22 with the 90hp. It should arrive in two weeks. What kind of speed should I expect? Any trouble tubing? Thanks for all the help

You're only talking 22 or 23 mph with a 90 hp 25" twin pontoon boat.

If you're a tuber, go ahead and change your order to a 115 hp now. Horsepower is cheaper now than in the future, and everyone wishes they had a bigger motor.

Pontoon boats are extremely long lasting boats, and they should be spec'd out for your present and projected future needs when first purchased.

I've owned my pontoon 26 years, and is still very seaworthy with the original Yamaha 2 stroke 115 hp motor. But, my twin pontoon boat handles like a pig trying to maneuver around skiers and tubes and at high speeds.

Since I have second set of young grandchildren that'll be tubers/skiers, we're leaning toward purchasing a 22' tritoon with lifting strakes and a 150 hp motor in the near future. That's the ideal size/combo for your use.

Well it'll mostly be used for fishing but my 5 y/o will want to tube from time to time. I'm in Lamar county. Where are u? And 90 is max hp rating

Your 5 year old will be more than happy tubing with that setup. I tow adults on mine and it does fine too, as along as there's only one or two others onboard at the time. 20'er with a 90 HP.

At 5 years old he will be thrilled with how fast it goes and by the time he is older and wants to go faster you will have a different boat anyhow.

You have probably the most common engine/boat combo and I am sure you will love it.

Did you go with the coastal package or the carpet?

I just ordered the 20' fishing barge with the coastal package and the 75hp 4stroke Friday of last week and my dealer called me yesterday and said I should have it we'd or thurs of this week so 2 weeks is what I have been told also.

Yea. I got lucky, they already had one at the factory just the way I ordered it. I don't know how it works but my dealer snatched it up for me....so the 2 weeks is just for the shipping I guess

Btw, I had the coastal option vinyl floors installed and the dealer told me that the coastal option readied my boat for salt water.....I find that hard to believe considering it was only an extra $800...is he full of ????

Weird...I was typing the other post when you posted this...lol Coastal package. Did your dealer tell you the motor and everything would be ready for saltwater with that package? I don't know what you have to do to the engine but I thought 800 bucks was pretty cheap to do anything to it.

Nope the only thing he told me about the coastal package is that it is easier to take care for the vinyl floor.

From my understanding the costal package is only the vinyl floor nothing else and on the 20' it was only a 500 dollar option.

You know if you go to suntrackers website and build a boat it only shows a 550.00 price for the coastal upgrade on the 22' I would be checking into why you were charged 800.00

yea it was the fishing package that was 800 and coastal was 500. That's what I thought to, that it was only the vinyl floors so I don't think he knew what he was talking about? Did you get the fishing package? I'm just gonna buy my own trolling motor and fish finder, thought 895(i think) was pretty pricey. Good luck with it, hope you enjoy it.

I did not get the fishing package as I want a gps/fish finder combo unit and I also thought the 900 for the package was a little steep. I looked up the finder and trolling motor it came with and you can buy them at retail for about the same price so you ain't saving nothing by ordering it.

Did you get a chance to walk onto a unit with the vinyl floor? I heard it can get slippery but dealer didn't have one and I didn't get to try it.

I did it seemd very textured and nonslip but I did not get to walk on it while it was wet. From everything I have heard and found online about it is that it will not be slippery when wet.
