Glad we know the exact year of the motor and the compression sounds great, so all the rest should be easy to fix. Here's a pic of where the part number for the prop "should" be on the prop as well as a parts catalog with exploded diagrams of your motor. Because your motor is a late model, it uses an electronic ignition as opposed to the older, much beloved "Universal Magneto" that vintage OMC motors have. As a result, it can be a bit tricky to troubleshoot. I don't know much about them, personally, aside from the fact that they work off of voodoo and black magic, or something to that effect, but here's a link to an article that may be of more use.
EDIT: Are you sure your motor is an 1983 model? I can't seem to find a 6 hp made that year. Double check the model/serial number and perhaps I can find the parts catalog I mentioned. The links below should help pin down the exact year.
yes the model number is correct I have also sent leeroy an email it's a 1983 made in belgium, and your not the first to mention this, the model I have has the kill switch on the end of the tiller that you cant fit a man over board to,you just push it in to stop it
P.S leeroy did reply with the above info also said to use a 1984 manual

I see. It's one of those funky euro models No worries. If Leeroy said to use a 1984 manual that's what we'll do. Here's the link to the parts catalog. Hope it serves.
Here is an idea! Pull the lead while running, pull out you Johnson and wiz on the lead! I talked my best friend into that while the lawnmower was running, when we were about 6 ! He pissed all over himself as he was screaming and crying, and I pissed my pants as I was laughing!!!!! Thats a very good lesson on electric shock!
