we all discuss performance, engine hp, speed, tri toon , twin tube, props, .....do this, do that...which is better.....
I rented a 2023 godfrey 22', tri-toon , with a yamaha 150hp motor equipped with a 3 blade prop...no idea as to pitch or diameter.....
I had 11 other adults, no hefers, on board......
Max throttle yielded 15 mph@4500 rpm. I have no idea what a yama ratings are.....but assume it should be rated to 6000 rpm.......anyway....just surprised at the lack of performance by this pontoon, I guess it was just the weight....extra toon?.....it did have the hard top slide......eh...

I have only one to compare it with and that is my 24' lowe pontoon with twin 25" tubes, a 115 hp merc. CT, With this same group of people I got 20+ with a 3 blade 16x12.......

I thought for sure with the extra 35 hp, the tri-toon would outperform mine.......it was 2' shorter than mine....

you hit the nail i think....when we were anchored, I looked for strakes and it has none....
just surprised....

Since it was a rental.....is it possible they had it limited somehow for full throttle power....to keep idiots from tearing things up?

duh....really!...do I need to pull up standard rpm/torque/hp charts that I've known about for decades?...or what....
neither does my 115 merc make max hp at 4500....
was't the point of my post...and didn't ask about hp...
It was about max throttle numbers.....
