I think your choice for decking is going to be way overkill, why not just use 1/2 inch and reinforce where you want to drill into by making seat bases and glass them onto the deck...much less weight and you won't run into clearance issues with the rest of the boat potentially. If you wanted to run thicker wood on the deck, I'd keep it to 5/8...maybe 3/4ths inch if I was going to over engineer it...

Someone bought a Glastron on this board that had a floor in it that was over 6 inches thick! Previous Owner ( PO ) just kept putting a new floor over the old one..the boat got so heavy that he added old tires to the splashwell to keep the water out, not to mention the 6 bilge pumps to keep it floating!

It's easy to want to over engineer what was there, but really, you just have to be very thorough in sealing the new wood to keep it from getting damaged again ( mostly making sure the mounting holes for the seats/ski locker are sealed before the screws are put in for final assembly ).

Noted..
I think I'm going to go with the same that was there (3/4) or at the most 7/8s
and then glass in another 1/2 or so where I'll be putting the seats.
I'm going to do the entire floor without ANY screws to ensure there is no spots for water the pentrate the wood.

Re: Joining the Club, if you'll have me.

been along time since I updated this thread.
Restore is going GREAT.
Ok so...
did one layer of cloth and resin over the entire inner hull (just cause)
Layed out the floor in 4 pieces...installed with PL Premium
used biscuts to secure them in together.
Used 5/8 ply
Resin on the underside of the ply for a nice water seal.
Used some spray in foam to fill in some gaps.
Then...
one really nice coat of resin over the entire deck to seal it
Then tabed in the deck on all joints...
Then a layer of mat and resin on the entire deck.
Let that cure for a couple of days

Then sprayed in Box liner instead in leiu of carpets.
Liner was a 3 part mix with rubber crumbs added for texture.
Made it grey.

Then I got to work on the electrical...Ripped out a ton of wire that PO had in there that went nowhere...Ran new circuts for Bow and stern lights.
ran a 12v accessory plug, ran new bilge circut and new bilge pump and relocated the fish finder.
Installed a 6 switch/fuse panel and then installed a 2nd battery system on a switch. Everything over sized in terms of wire and shrink wrapped etc.
Looking for new gauges this weekend at the boat show.

Have 2 circuts left for future add ons etc.
Ordered a bunch of LED lights from EPAY for under the gunwalls and dash..
Just for the coolness factor.

Next was on to new upolstery...
Gunwalls done and installed
Front seats and sides done.
Still have to redo the dash and rear seats. (sent the fabric for the seats out to have a graphic embroidered on them)
All the wood trim sanded, cleaned and restained.
New seats on order and should be here shortly.

So aside from a few more days on upolstery and general tweaking (cup holders etc.) the boat restore is done.

Next on to the motor..
PO had never drained the gas (has sat for a few years) and didn't know what an impeller is so...
Ordered Carb kits and impeller kit and expect those in a few days.
Plan is to do those and then wait for ice off to do a sea trial.

Will be posting pics in a few mins

Noticed I missed ALOT of the progress pictures as I was SOOO focused on getting it done rather then taking pictures.
Sorry

Sweet. The boat flies.

What lake are you on in the test run.
