Johnson seahorse 5.5 outboard

Does anyone know if a tiller handle from a cd-12 will fit a cd-17? I picked up a nice little project yesterday but the tiller handle is missing and there is a handle from a cd-12 on e-bay I'm looking at.

Thanks guys, the housing numbers are the same but the gear #'s are not. They probably would mesh but i hate to spend the money on maybe. Mine is a 1960 and the tiller handle on eBay is from a 1955
