Im sorrey about my spelling i cant spell good but here are some pix of what i found with my motor jumping.i think the clutch dog is bad.not shure but can some one tell me if this is the clutch dog.and also i got alot of greese on water pump.Any ideas of where it could be comeing from.

That ugley looking stuff on your water pump is unburnt oil in the fuel mixture.
Yes, that is the clutch dog.

That is the clutch dog, and the grease globs look like execcesive overgreasing of the gimble bearing, it oozed out and dropped down the exhaust housing to rest on the waterpump.

the clutch dog was wore out on the forword side so i swapped sides and i will let yall know results

Not that I'm against doing that, but it is just a band-aid.

Complete gear-cases can be found for about $50, then rob the forward gear and clutch dog out of it.

Or, buy a NOS one on ebay.

Check on Ebay - I just got a NOS clutch dog for a 25hp Johnson for about $25 which included shipping. A dealer will charge closer to $100.

You have been running that thing in a barrell, haven't you? Either that or an awful lot of trolling. That is what all that gunk is on the pump. Normally, it would burn / or / wash out and you would never know it.
