Can anyone tell me if a (not sure of year) #5882427 D2 flywheel could be used to replace a damaged one #582100 D1 off of a 1980 7.5 Johnson. Thank you.

Post a few pictures.----Top and bottom of these flywheels.---Is it 582427 or 5882427 ?---A 582427 will work on a 1980 model 7.5

Thanks for reply racerone. It's a 582437 (typo mistake) good to know it will work. Out of curiosity would you happen to know what the D number stands for.

Simple-----D2 might indicate the die that was used in the factory.----Quality control purposes.----It has nothing to do with the part number !
