I am writing from Italy and I hope to get some helpful information about my 1985 Johnson outboard.
Last week while I was running with my 19 ft boat at 4500 rpm I experienced a sudden loss of power. The motor continued to run at low rpm without the possibility to increase the speed for atleast 10 minutes. It was like a fuel starvation despite the tank was full.What's happened?
Then the engine increase the speed again untill another loss of power.
A week ago I changed the spark plug and cleaned the carbs.
Is a possible fuel-oil pump failure? Is an elettricaly problem?
Just for information....but this motor has some protections about high temperature on heads engine or low pressure on VRO oil system? Can the protection shut down the engine?
