I know the tale tell does not mean the engine is actually cooling the engine.
But if the block gets hot enough the water will get warm.
I have seen it and stopped a few boats in my time that were blowing steam out. What problems they had i dont know? Maybe an air pocket since some of them are placed to low on some engines.

Blockage.....salt or fresh on the history of this motor.

Sodium or possibly mud dobbers have invaded you.

I am thinking the same thing , even though the boat was bought way inland doesnt mean a thing.
I know the water flooding out of the mid section is pretty common but it never did it before and now i am sure my motor is over heating.
I planned to pull lower unit and thermostats this morning , but of course i wake up and its raining with No rain in the forcast lol.

Finally stopped raining.
Thermostat housing and inside of engine look good.
Water pump was missing the top rubber seal that seals pump to copper engine tube. No where to be found on the gravel ground and it did not fall off during removal.
Upper exhaust seal was blown out as well

Finally stopped raining.
Thermostat housing and inside of engine look good.

I tore the gasket off thermostat housing
