Johnson 88hp to 115hp swap?

I have a 1996 Johnson 88hp that needs new piston - thinking about just putting on a rebuilt powerhead instead. Is it possible to upgrade power by swapping the 88hp powerhead for a 115hp powerhead? Any help or thoughts appreciated - THANKS!

There's more to it than that. The exhaust cover, carbs, porting, etc.
