Johnson 150 Ocean Runner no oil alarm

My no oil alarm occasionally goes off after running for a while at low idle.It occurs both at start up and when docking after a hard run.Any thoughts?

If your 150 is like my 1997 175 ocean pro. It could be your VRO. Just had mine replaced for almost the same reason. Hope this helps

Thanks for the come back. I had the VRO replaced when I had engine work done and again when that one acted up similar to how this one is acting now.I think something else is going on. I don't want to take it back.

I have the Johnson 150 Ocean Runner 1996 model, just for reference, what will the oil alarm sound like?

The no oil alarm sounds like a loud buzzer.

Is the noise steady or intermittent? Steady? On a few seconds, off a few seconds, on again?

Alarm Tones:
Overheat - continuous tone
No Oil - continuous short pulses
Low Oil - short pulse every 40 seconds
Fuel Restriction - continuous alarm at or near full throttle

My tach has an alarm and four lights. The light that is lit is the no oil alarm, the alarm is a steady buzz.
