If you are doing all the rings you could do them one at a time instead of removing the crankshaft. (by pulling the piston put through the head
i say that as putting the crankshaft back in is the most difficult part as you have to line everything up and make sure the piston rings dont snap at the same time.
Its not that dificult but can be a bit fiddly especially if you dont have a ring compressor (i dont)

Well parts finally came in on Friday and after about 10 hours is so with some help she is completely rebuilt. Actually wasn't all that difficult. Took pictures just to make sure everything goes back in the right spots. Tomorrow I am going to the lake and will be putting the power head back in. One thing that I am not completely 100% of is the timing. Was reading up in the book but still not too clear. Any special methods or tools required? I will post some pictures as soon as I have the motor up and running again. You guys need to see the one piston that had no compression lol

timing lights required to get it properly done.
The flywheel key takes care of most of the timing but the one to watch is the max advance as you dont want timing to get too far advanced as that can burn out the pistons.
sounds like the job was a good project. Much better owning an engine that you know what its like on the inside
