Jet vs Prop

Any thoughts on Jet propelled vs prop. I'm on a motor hunt, (115 range) and am considering all options. Pros, cons, opinions. Let me know what you think.

Jets are good for skinny water, that's about it. They tend to be less efficient for a given horsepower, .ie a 115hp with a jet unit will perform more like a 90, but use the fuel of the 115.

Prop is much more efficient (30% more) than jet OB. Of course, if the water is real shallow, props are difficult to keep undamaged

Thanks, I didn't realize there was a big efficiency difference. When I'm going in real shallow water, I'll take the canoe or kayak. Looks like it's prop for me.
