I just bought a pair of jetskies on a nice aluminum trailer that i would love to keep. Original wheels are 5.30-12 and they are old and cracked. The hub is 4.5-5 and my set of 14" wheels with nice and new Carlisle tires fit the hole pattern. Unfortunately, the width of these tires make them rub on the step even without the fender. I wondered if there any way to move the wheel a bit away from the hub. Ill try to see if my 13 inch tires 175/80/13 would fit better, but still want some extra space for a fender.
Thank you

Generally would not advocate it, but wheel spacers may work... However Carslile makes the USA trail in a 5.30-12 and that is the best tire you can get in a 12"

Ill try to see if 13 inch wheels will fit. There is a huge difference in ride betweeen 12 and 13 inch wheels

My 4 current boat trailers have 12", 13", 14" and 15" wheels and tires. They all ride the same.

Buy a new set of 12" tires and wheels. Be sure they are bias plies. Kenda is a very good tire in that size. When you pull the trailer it will run just fine.

what is your reason for bias ply?

53 years experience buying some good and some crappy trailer tires.

The bias drive better and have fewer problems. That's my experience.
My best professional advice is to try some quality radials like the Goodyear Endurance. A lot has changed. However pretty much all that is available in an 8" will be bias. The USA trail is as best you will get

Good luck finding a radial in 5.30 x 12.

You can use a 145/80-12 if you really want a radial. Also hard to locate in most areas.

There are radial's in 5.30-12 but you have to dig for them. The USA Trail in bias is really about all you will find that is quality though. 145R12 is a larger size that is 22" in diamater.. Once you get into 13" you can get the Goodyear Endurance radial and then you can talk about quality
