Whoa TG, methinks you were right. Wanna race?:p

What motor do you have? The BeachCraft has an incredibly smooth 302 w/ 2 bbl. I don't want to go to the extent I did with my Gulfstream but I've already put out feelers for an OEM 4 bbl manifold. I've got a 450 cfm Marine Holley that I'd resurrect and stick on it.

This is kind of a little extra project and I want to keep the expense down. Mortal man does not really need two 18 to 20 ft boats.

Yes they are strikingly the same, i believe it goes back to a old design........chit dont have the link on this comp.

That boat has a 4.3 efi with vortec heads, i think it;s 220 hp with a volvo drive 1.66 gears, about the same as that 302. Try and get a 4 blade prop (stern lifter) it will really make that hull shine. I put a highend ss 4bld and its a whole different boat. The race is on next summer netrual ground say Puget sound?????? Umm no tricked out mod's though this is stricktly a semi stock race.......(No Top Secret flotation devices.)...o:)

Maybe I'll just temporarily swap the 5.0 ltr, rollercam, 4 bbl'd, GT40P headed, 9:1 compression motor out of my Gulfstream. That motor scares me in the bigger, heavier GulfStream. I'd hate (not) to see what it would do in that little 18 ft'r.

However, I've determined that this will be a budget job so no such mods are intended. (Maybe a little 450 cfm 4 bbl later on)

As to the chinewalking it's gone they worked without a hitch, smile's abit..between the prop and your tab's the boat feel's like a light littel skiff on launch and almost no wake @ plane
