well as u may know ive been fixing up my neighbors 35hp 1959 johnson. i got the flywheeel pulled recently and reaplced everything under there. well when i open up one of the points i noticed that they were all bent up( the part where u screw in all the wires.) well i took it and used the newer points and the old points and installed that in. cleaned it off with the paper that came with the points and hoped for the best. ok i slapped the flywheel on and took me a rope with a know at the end and wrapped it aorund the flywheel. spun it and got amazing spark( the top cylinder the one with brand points) then checked the bottom cylinder no spark.
my thought is i need 400-600 grit sand paper and to clean off the points. i got them adjusted to .020
what u guys think is my problem? i diconnnected both kill swith wires from the vacum and quick connect. still no spark. so i elimnated an kill switch wire problem?
any thoughts
