Well it's over for another season for me I rode by the lake I boat in and the Army corp has already started to drain the lake it's down by @ least 3' and now I have to si and live vicariusly through everyone else here until next year. Well @ least my season's end service work is done just checked the gimbal alignment and bellows when I had the outdrive off for seal replacement and all the fluids have been changed just need to fill her up with fuel and stabilize and tarp it man I even just detailed it last weekend when the wife was sick in bed.

Re: It's over

Well KMF I really don't feel comfortable trucking 90 miles in a single cab truck with 4 people in waters I haven't frequented in over 15 yrs especially with my rig. So I will just take it for what it's worth and know my rig is ready for next year when I will definatley have better planned for more time on the water but as it is in boatng I have plans to blast my trailer and repaint once I figure where to get it off the trailer and do the deed. I was just told by the Hen that our close friends went out today ( Berlin Lake) where the water was down @ least 3' and wasted thier new $400 stainless prop just not worth it to me I can wait. Hope all who are still able have a great end to the season. Just winterized my rig today and put her to sleep.

Mark42 ... I heard that .... LOL

The river I normaly boat & fish on which is next door to home, has been so low on water this year I could not launch the boat even once. I am normaly on this river twice a week. Been using my small fishing boat 3 times only on northern lakes. Worst boating summer ever .... water has not been this low since 37 years as per weather experts.

conclusion .... sxxt happens .. lol

what?!! where do you boat in a swimming pool? LOL sorry couldn't resist, I have honestly never heard of draining a lake at the end of the season.

pull the boat north and have your crew ride in a car.

Re: It's over

I boat on a couple of dammed sections of a river. After labor day they do tend to pull them down more. Still usable though.

Right now I'm watching CL for parking space for my boat. I want it out of my garage for the winter.

Re: It's over

This man made lake ( berlin resivoir) is a tributary control water basin so says the geniuses of the Army corp of engineers who could care less about the revenues they ruin from boating in the area of the lake some years they'll open the dam and start draining it as early as mid july and by doing what they do every year all they do is post that the lakes shorelines are increasing inland!!! Like I said einstiens they practically drain the lake completely and wonder why the shoreling is increasing. now you know the logic behind the disaster in Louisanna. But for the most part when the water is up it's a great lake
