Gave the motor a quick and dirty paint job. It's far from good but looks good from afar!
She got a new tilt switch too, my old one would go up but not down, I tried to crack the sealed case open to repair the clicks button but broke it, so I just installed a momentary toggle switch with a rubber boot over it.

Nice clean Johnny with some popping decals for contrast. Looking pretty darn good to me :thumb:

But then again I may be biased towards that look. :D

trial by fire makes it fun! Especially inexpensive fire. I almost dont want mine to be complete so I know I have something to do with off time.

Boat is looking good there hayko, cant wait to see the pin stripes added.

LOL that is funny probably one of the funniest statements I have ever heard on here. Nobody does just 1 StarCraft. I am on my 2nd with the possibility of a 3rd stashed in the shop waiting.

I think it looks great! But that's coming from a guy with the ugliest outboards in this forum :watermelon:

So I got the transom was in place and drilled out, floatation installed, deck installed, knee brace repaired and vinyl cut out.
I gotta say, it feels great to have a floor again!!

Always a few steps ahead of me Hayko. Nicely done. Did you seal and paint the deck or is that just exterior paint? I cant decide if i want to mess with this spar stuff on that many pieces of wood that size.

The motor looks great from Texas..:D
Did you countersink all the deck rivets? Are you going to fill them in to make them level with the deck?
Looks great all the way around..
It's getting closer to splash day..

I painted it both sides 3 coats of porch and floor paint. Should be sealed up okay plus it will be covered with vinyl. I wasn't able to find large 4 liter pails of spar here, so I just got 1 liter for the transom and a big pail to do the floor.

Thanks Decker, I did countersink the rivets, they have a 5/8 head of them and I used a 5/8 fostner bit. One thing I learned, is to cut the larger hole first with the fostner bit, then use the tip hole to drill the 3/16 hole for the rivet shank.
When I drilled it the other way, the fostner bit tip was too small and wandered around making the 2 holes uncentered.
I will fill the holes with 5200.

I think I may be in that club as well with my Chrysler.

The knee brace repair looks good and solid. So does the deck. The outboard turned out nice for a quick and dirty paint job in my opinion.

Looks great and now that you reached the pivotal moment when the decking goes in. After that the rest seems to fall into place pretty fast and you have a boat again rather than a tin tub in the driveway. You're going to be on the water before you know it, keep up that forward momentum!

One piece of advice for you on that knee brace. I would drill a few holes all the way through and put in some SS machine screws and nylocs. I really don't know how long those blinds alone will hold up to the stress.

The knee brace is buttered with jb weld and then riveted, I do like your idea though and think I will do just that, thanks!

Great progress Rob, looks like you got everything done you planned to over the long weekend. Your weather must have been better up there than it was down here.

Sweet. Congrats on getting the week off.

I used unpaid OT for most of my vacations over the last 3years, hardly used any vacation or sick days. Got paid for an extra 33 days when they laid me off :)

I feel semi-retired..... Back to the grind on Thurs...
