issues with trim & reverse

1976 Aerocraft mustang 1
140hp i/o

to put the trim up, you have to cross the terminals on the solenoid. is this a bad solenoid or bad trim switch?

also, the boat shuts off when going in reverse. i have to give it a little throttle then shift before it comes to a complete idle. i was told this was a cut out switch? any ideas? Thanks!

I have no idea,but the trim motor works,Does the solenoid click when you press the trim button?

Remove the drive and inspect the shift mechanism for corrosion, and possably a shift cable replacement
