Is this the only Yamaha engine hanger? 2003 150 2 stroke

Motor is 2003 150hp 2 stroke carbureted. I am trying to find out if this hanger is the only place that I need to clip to to lift my motor and set it on a stand. Also, the hanger is set back from center of the motor. Seems like it would be a little off balance if I clip to this. Should I trim the motor up like this guy has done?


Lifting hanger is part #16 on this diagram. Sorry about the small picture.

I agree with this statement. I just wonder why they would put a lifting eye on here if they didn't want us dummies to use em. I will have that motor up for maybe 2-3 mins as I get it onto the engine stand.

Scott what size bolts fit in the flywheel for the harmonic balancer puller for this motor?

All I can tell you it's metric you can use the hook as long as it's quick. I don't rust them and it makes it harder to work with because you can't lift it straight.

Got her off and onto my stand safely. I used that hanger and actually I felt very comfortable with it. Only hung from it for about 30mins. while I got the hardware unbolted and the BENT teleflex steering cable out which was a real PITA. Anyways, thanks for the quick replies. I agree that using an eye on the crank would be ideal, but without having one, this worked very well for me. Thanks again!!
