I'm on middle of the road broadband, the pages take 5 - 10 seconds to load.

If you are such a coneheaded genius perhaps you can make a suggestion or two rather than insulting your host.

3 meg shared here, about 5-10 seconds. I can live with it, this place has helped me so much I'll hang in. I've lurked other places, but they are nothing compared to this.

One thing I'd like to see, is at the bottom of the thread, the same links as at the top for the forum you are instead of the drop down menu.

By all means JB, enlighten me. What have they been doing constantly for months with no results to show? If they want my professional advice they can pay for it like everyone else.

Don't act like I'm the only one complaining here. Everybody else has said the same things. Slow, slow, slow, no results to show. It's not my fault they downgraded the forum.

BTW, on the click delay thing, I have noticed that it gets progressively worse between restarts. Before the change, i noticed the delay on the commerical side of iboats and not on the forums. After the change, the other way around. I just restarted and the click delay is barely perceptable. By the end of the day it may be as long as a few seconds.

I didn't say you are wrong.

I said you are out of line attacking iboats as not caring and blaming that imagined indifference for the troubles with the new software. I said there is no excuse and no good reason for that.

I am not a software person (conehead: not an insult, a mark of respect) so I am not in a position to discuss software issues with you. I do know the people involved and have been part of the many discussions about the problems and subsequent improvements already in.

Beyond that I have no intention of "proving" anything. You made the vicious accusation. Suppose you prove something?

I think the fact that this forum has been excruciatingly slow and exclusive to foreign members for months and months and months and months is proof enough. If they had been working on it for the last few months and months, we would have seen results by now, plain and simple. A problem like this is extremely simple, and there is no reason for it to last this long. A worst case scenario would be having to set up a completely new server, with completely new software. That takes a couple days and at most a couple hundred bucks. Maybe they've spent a few days messing with the code, but all they're doing is polishing a turd.
