is this my motor serial number

I found a silver cap on top of the block . it was on the rear of the block the numbers are G3275333. The motor is a Johnson 48 spl

yes that is the serial number, they are not published, so you have to have a dealer crossreference it to find year and model. by the way, the 48spl is a fantastic motor.
