Re: Is this a good boat??

I've seen SBL's posts on these forums for over two years. After a while some of the stuff he was posting just didn't seem to add up. So,when I saw this thread it looked so much like one of SBL's I thought it was SBL until I saw his user name.

If I'm wrong and this person is genuine, I will be happy to offer my sincere apologies.

As for why someone would post questions just to be posting or to keep the conversation going - who knows? Way back in the early chat room days (around 1995 or so) there was a site called "Fifty Plus" for people over fifty years of age. Someone on there claimed to be a young kid whose father was dead and who just liked being around older people. A lot of people took him to heart, felt sorry for the kid and gave him all kinds of encouragement until his wife found out what he was doing and outed him as a middle aged man.

People do funny things sometimes.

In my limited experaince (I'm only 25) the transom and the engine are the two biggest concerns. Since he states it runs, I would want to see it run for 4-5 with muffs or in a garbage can including shifting gears. Have you considered aluminum boats or is your heart set on fiberglass? I've owned both and have found the aluminum MUCH easier to work with... just completely replaced the transom on my Starcraft in the evenings and was easy. The hulls basically last forever. Food for thought.
i took what you said and really thought about it and ur soo right. so im going to go with an aluminum boat so what about this one

So, what happened to the 12 ft. boat with the 9.9 Suzuki motor that you had on the 21st of February? Did you trade it for the 14' boat with the 25 horse "jonson" between then and the 5th of March?

Nope, no more questions. I've already figured out what I wanted to know. But, Wow! I'm impressed! Lots of activity for a fourteen year old kid. What with all the working, fishing every weekend, going to school ( I assume you're still in school) and buying and selling boats and motors it's a wonder you have any time left for eating and sleeping. LOL

Welcome to iboats!

The last two Craigslist ads you posted seem to be a little on the high side, at least they would be in my neck of the woods.

That kind of attitude might have something to do with the responses you are getting. Things seem a bit odd in your storiesbut many of us welcome you anyways. Then you pull this type of attitude. Your age has nothing to do with this, you maturity (or lack of it) does. I wish hou the best of luck finding your new boat.

That settles it. Definitely a teenager. With that mood swing, possibility a female. Either way I agree with NYBo. They sound pricey.

I think his attitude was well warranted given the completely inappropriate treatment he's received. This thread is CLOSED but FC, feel free to open another one where you'll hopefully be treated with more respect. I apologize for not watching this one and letting it get this out of hand.
