Is my starter marine or auto ?

I dont know if my starter is marine or automotive. It doesn't look very old. The part number is NAPA 76014<br /><br />Thanks

I don't know about the part number but I do know that the visible difference between my marine starter and a non-marine was hat there was a rubber gasket/cover where the cellnoid mounted to the starter.<br /><br />-JustMrWill

Best thing to do would be to call NAPA and ask them.

Most Coast Guard approved marine electrical parts have a sticker on them that says something similar to " SAE J1171 approved".<br /><br /> http://www.boatpartsinfo.com/engineparts/starters/
