after you rebuild your carbs...meaning...take them off, rebuild and re install.
I do understand the jets/mixtures need to be reset but what about timing etc.
when you took them off you didnt have to un hook any of that stuff it is easy to check when you put it back together. just make sure the line on the throttle are lined up with the arm on the carb and you are good to go
