Hi everyone! My name is Dave and this is my first boat. Now I have been around boats my entire life (34 years) as my parents have always had boats. My father was into Wellcrafts. Anyway, I just bought my 1970 MFG Gypsy from a guy on CL. As you can see, it needs pretty much everything. I have some pics of what I have done so far and will be adding pics as I go.

Hi Dave ! Welcome Aboard!
Your Gypsy looks like a great lil' diamond in the rough ! Is it an 18'er? Get a nice deal on CL ? We've Been chuckeling at the people who want millions for their treasures , and don't realise there selling an outhouse !
You got the best place on the web for help/support so ask if you need any thing. Peter

Dave. I second that.
You'll find all us MFG's a tight bunch! We may not have all the answers. But here is the only place dedicated to MFGs. And lots people with a real interest in preserving them. :)

Wow your really determined to tackle a job like that. I too take on projects that others would give up on, right now I'm at a point in my life with two young teen girls that those sorts of projects just seem so far off, get er done now and keep that young boy interested don't curse at him too much, then by the time he's a teen and fixing up his very own boat, it'l be the other way around you'll be his helper.
