Intake resonator for 6.2 MPI

A number of articles on the MerCruiser 6.2 MPI note the addition of an intake resonator and aft-facing throttlebody for intake noise mitigation. I don’t see these parts on my MerCruiser engine or service manual. Does anyone know how you can tell if they are present?

This option sounds like it’s a bit newer so it would probably depend on what year model the boat/engine is and engine serial number to help locate a parts diagram if you don’t happen to have a photo of your engine… The throttle body intake flame arrestor should be toward the rear of the boat and probably hidden under an engine plastic cover.
Below should be an online image of what it would look like as it would be part of an Incorporated design of newer models.
If your throttle body is on top / center then you wouldn’t have the resonator design.

6.2L V-8 Sterndrive
Rethink the V-8.
We certainly did . Everything, part by part, system by system, with a total design and engineering commitment to marine use . The result? A 6 .2-liter V-8 engine with unparalleled torque and acceleration to get you on plane quickly and smoothly .
A whole new sporty feel at the wheel . Significant reductions
in sound and vibration at the helm . Major improvements in the cockpit environment, by design . All wrapped in the legendary reliability you’ve come to expect from Mercury .
No V-8 is built like it. No V-8 runs like it.
• Power and acceleration is delivered with 6 .2 liters of displacement and a long-runner scroll intake manifold that optimizes air flow for higher torque .
• Adaptive Speed Control maintains rpm during hard turns, creating a sportier, more intuitive driving experience without needless throttle adjustments .
• An unmatched boating experience thanks to an intake resonator and aft-facing throttle body that work together to dramatically reduce noise, while directing the engine sound away from the cockpit .
• Front and rear engine mounts isolate vibration for a smooth, quiet performance .
• Accessible, easy-to-reach, color-coded maintenance points .

Thanks! My engine is 1A079680
If not present, could the resonator be added to an older engine? The tb is in the center of the intake manifolds.

I believe you have the older GM sbc based 6.2 vs the newer (2015?) mercruiser made 6.2 . So no the parts for the newer non gm 6.2 will nit fit
