Intake Drain Hose

I noticed that the intake drain hose is missing from the bottom of the intake on my 90 HP Force that I just purchased as well as the intake itself being loose. I bought some new bolts and gaskets to reinstall the intake. Question is the rubber hose off of the intake (its missing), being a drain, is it supposed to connect into something else or daylight? There looks like there is another fitting similar under the block, does anyone know what that is for? Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Intake Drain Hose

Below the air box will be a 90 degree elbow that one end of the hose connects to. Just to the side and below the bottom carb screwed into the intake manifold is a METERED orifice barbed fitting. Because this hose supposedly recycles spit-back from the carbs, and since there will not necessarily be any liquid in the bottom of the air box, the fitting is metered. Because it is metered it will not affect engine operation whether it is sucking fluid or air. Therefore, the hose is a nicety and helps keep the inside of the engine shroud from becoming oily, but not a necessity.
