I have a 1989 Evinrude 110 that I had taken the power trim off to be rebuilt. In the meantime, I want to get the motor installed on the boat. Can I reinstall the entire assembly with the engine on the boat? This Is a 3 ram type system.

Re: Installing power trim assembly with motor on boat?

i took mine off and put it back no problems at all with engine mounted on the boat.

i take it the boat is out the water and on a trailer ??????
if its in water then dont even think about it coz youl drop something for sure.
but on a boat its no harder to put back than take off.

i cant see any pitfalls in this at all if on trailer , the engine brackets have not moved so all should simply fit back no problems.

what i done was to put power to the unit then trim up a touch, put the main centre ram on then just power it up
as needed or down to push the rods back through.
Just make sure you watch the wires dont get pinched.
