Installing Impeller, what lube?

I will be replacing a impeller soon, and I have read that there is a lubricant that you use when installing the new impeller. What lube is best used for this? The new impeller did not come with any lube. Thanks in advance.

I have always used the 2-4-C

Dish liquid.
Don't use grease, some types of grease and oil can damage the impeller.

My 2nd on the Quicksilver 2 4 C, comes in about a 6 ounce tube, very waterproof, recommended for drive shaft splines, etc. Good Stuff!

Thanks, that is what i will use. Is that just to help getting it in the housing, and protect it until the water get to it?

More for ease of assembly. They dry up after use when sitting in your driveway.
