hello removed lower unit to replace impellor everything went well cleaned but having some trouble getting it back in, the driveshaft is lined up but i think i am having trouble with the shifter, i removed it in neutral,any tips

On the shift bar try and tap the shift block a little, it maybe off just a hair from lining up. The shift block is what your shifter cable is attached to.
thanks will be trying again this morning i think your hopefully right because everything else seems to line up and only needs to go up that last maybe an inch or less
