info on a 68 merc 650

how do I tell what mod my motor is..... I'm wanting to find out if it has a charging system I have looked all over it and can only find the serial number 2310718

Did you look at the parts list?

See item 11, Rectifier under STARTER MOTOR, STARTER SOLENOID, RECTIFIER AND WIRING HARNESS. Does your engine have a rectifier?

I think your s/n is too early but you can check anyway.
