12Footer is very correct. A very expensive model. Estimated value around $8000.00.

I don't know the scale, but this bird is around 5 feet long.

Gill, I don't think I would take the control of that thing if they paid me. The sight of seeing it auger into a cornfield is something I wouldn't want to be any part of :)
I imagine it's owner flies it with puckered cheeks too,for fear of pranging it.
It sure is beautiful!

Yes, they fly with a slightly higher anxiety factor. Speaking of flying... I was talking to a guy from the UK at this particular fly-in. His bird was not in the usual British fanfare or ensignia. I asked him why..... He replied because he was/is so very proud of our boys overseas.... I'll post one more shot then I'm through. Get a load of this one.

I here that. I was deep into this about 10 years ago. I went to "modelers", "fly in" one time and saw a scale model of a P-47 (Thunderbolt/"Jug") fly through the back window of a spectators Ford Escort.

Thank goodness noboby was in the car.

Just out of curiosity what powers that model? Does it have some rocket type engine? And can it really achieve speeds that fast? Very impressed by it. It sure is a beauty.

Re: Incredible Flying Machine....

I plan on getting there this coming year. The last one I did a photo shoot at was in Yuma, AZ. I love to snap em all. I'm only 30 min from Lakeland. I used to fly when in college but it got too expensive. I used to pay $15 per hour for solo time!! I believe it was the ole Cessna 2 seater.. 72?

They are indeed that fast. Supposed to stay at or under 200 to be legal. Use real jet engines. A tad smaller, but real none the less.

Gil,

If I'm not mistaken, the emblem on the side is the Fighting Gamecocks of the 67th Fighter Squadron presently based at Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan, flying the F-15 Eagle. The squadron has a long and colorful history going back to 1941 at Selfridge Field, MI.
67 Figher Squadron
